We attended the Motorober Rally event today starting at High Point State Park in the extreme northwest corner of New Jersey, just south of Port Jervis, NY. The goal was to break the record of 273 cars of the same type in a single moving convoy, in our case Minis. At the same time we had fun with costume contests for cars and people, and a general gathering of Mini enthusiasts from all over – one car was from Ohio. I got there earlier than I thought I would be and scored position #25. Check for pics here… . Unfortunately, my camera battery was not charged and we didn’t get all the pictures we wanted.
We then made our way from High Point to Prestige Mini in Mahway where we found that we likely did not break the record with only about 240+ cars. Still, a great time was had by all participants and it was great seeing all the models and configurations, new and old. More photos can be found here. We’ll be sure to attend next year and bring enough juice in our camera battery to record more of the event when we hopefully do break the record.
Update 2007-11-11: More great photos of the event here.
